Indiana State Route 64 is the route in Indiana with the most unfortunate number, because it exists as the next route north of the Interstate 64 corridor for its entire length. It enters Indiana as the bridge carrying Illinois Route 15 out of Mount Carmel, passing east through Princeton, Oakland City, Huntingburg, and Marengo, to end just west of the Louisville area at Interstate 64 near Georgetown. Adding to the problems with its numbering, Indiana State Route 64 also strangely lies entirely north of Indiana State Route 62, defying the upward trend in even numbers as one proceeds south through Indiana.
