Ohio State Route 316 is a short east-west route in Pickaway County, about ten miles south of Columbus. It serves the towns of South Bloomfield and Ashville, which are near US Route 23. It also serves Darbyville. The western end splits from Ohio Route 56, which runs east-southeasterly. Ohio Route 316 provides an alternative for those who want to go a bit north of that as they proceed west (it goes east-northeasterly). Ohio Route 316 passes through Darbyville, then it straightens out toward the east. It meets US Route 23 in South Bloomfield and continues east a little bit more into Ashville. It bends northerly in Ashville to end at Ohio Route 752. Ohio Route 316 is about 14 miles long.
My photo of Ohio Route 316 shows a guide marker seen by those heading southbound on US Route 23 through South Bloomfield. It announces the upcoming left turn onto Ohio Route 316's eastern continuation into Ashville. This photo was taken in March 2021, as I was on my way to touring southeastern Ohio.
