Michigan Highway 156 is a short route south to Ohio, between Clayton and Morenci in southeasternmost Michigan. The northern end of Michigan Highway 156 is at Michigan Highway 34 in the town of Clayton, Michigan. The route runs southerly from there to Morenci, a town situated right along the Ohio border. The roadway carrying Michigan Highway 156 proceeds southerly out of Morenci, becoming Ohio State Route 108 at the state line. The highway, now donning the Ohio state highway designation, continues south to Ohio towns like Wauseon and Napoleon. All of Michigan Highway 156 is in the southwestern quadrant of Lenawee County, Michigan.
My photo of Michigan Highway 156 signage comes from the northern end of the route, at Clayton, Michigan. The intersection of Michigan Highway 156 and Michigan Highway 34 marks the northern end of Highway 156, and the guide signage depicted helps westbound travelers on Michigan Highway 34 find the southerly turn onto Michigan Highway 156. This photo was taken in March 2019, as I was driving around central and southern Lower Michigan.
